My Review:

My family and I were given the opportunity to review A+ TutorSoft’s 2nd Grade Online Curriculum. I have been wanting to try out a computer-based curriculum with my daughters for a while, so we were extremely excited to test the waters with A+TutorSoft! We jumped right in. In hindsight, I should’ve explored the site and all of the extras available.

Each day, my daughters would sign in and complete a lesson. At the end of each lesson was an interactive question/answer session. It worked out to where they completed one exam per week. At the end of each day, I would log in to the parent account and view their progress, so that I knew where to spend more/less time the next day.

I found the curriculum to be very thorough and complete. I appreciated the various forms of media used and love that I can use their templates to create my own worksheets to focus on areas where my children might be struggling.

Even though my daughters have always done excellent in math, it has always been a source of stress in our home. The workbook method was becoming very boring and each day consisted of quite a bit of whining and complaining about not wanting to do math. I can honestly say that A+ TutorSoft has changed all of that. My daughters are now excited about math and actually ask to do math!

I have only heard one complaint from my children regarding this program, and that is they are not fond of the robotic voice of the instructor. While I have heard much worse, it seems to be quite annoying for them.

My only suggestion would be during the lessons, the instructor needs to pause longer when asking the students a question. She will ask a question, but then not leave enough time for the child to think about the question and supply an answer. This makes it frustrating for the student.

Overall, I am very happy with A+ TutorSoft and am proud to say we plan to use this program for years to come!

You’re welcome! We were previously using Horizons, but this format seems to work better for us.

We’re doing the free 1 month trial and I love it. My daughter is actually doing it without fighting me which says a lot. I love that it records her scores and you can retake exams if needed. The ebooks and web assignments are rely helpful in her understanding. Now if I can find a language arts curriculum in a similar format I’d be thrilled.
