I have one little girl who is an extremely picky eater, and by picky I mean she wants nothing but junk food. 99% of the time she won’t even try something that she *thinks* she won’t like. Dinner time is a constant struggle. We’ve had more arguments over dinner than I care to remember.
Last week, I hosted a Tastefully Simple party at my home. You can imagine my shock when the dips were passed around and my child tried a spinach dip, a jalapeno dip, and fresh carrots with onion dip and LIKED them! Seriously, you could have picked me up off the floor. Who was this child and what has she done with my Shaylie?
This got the mama wheels in my brain turning. I could get her to eat healthy snacks by putting them in dip form. YES! So what did I do, I ordered dips from Tastefully Simple. I went online and found even more healthy dip recipes. I added some fresh vegetables to my grocery list.
It’s still too soon to tell if we’ve made real progress here, but so far it’s working!
Do you have picky eaters? How do you incorporate healthy foods into their diets?

I completely feel you! Dips are definitely a BIG help in our house. Who cares if she dips grapes in ketchup, at least she’s eating : )
I know some mom’s say this is an obedience issue but sometimes it’s a battle you just shouldn’t fight. I took the “you must eat what I serve you” mentality when my daughter was younger and she dropped weight percentiles. Her Doc was very concerned and we wound up needing to buy MCT oil *very expensive* to help her get more calories.
My new mentality is she must Always try what we’re eating and if she doesn’t like it there is always iron and vitamin fortified cereal. I definitely don’t cater to the junk food monster : )

More of a “how can I add more veggies” than it is a picky eater issue, but I like to shread up different veggies (zucchini, carrots) in my spaghetti sauce when I make different dishes….I also add spinach to my lasagna.
